This has the Central Disciplinary Tribunal ruled in two cases that occurred on May 24. Both complaints were unfounded. The disciplinary tribunal under this breaks the KNMG with previous rulings. If a parent accompanies the child and there is no question of a substantial, unnecessary or unusual treatment, the doctor there, what the disciplinary tribunal concerned, in principle, assume that there is consent from both parents.
The required permission has double what the disciplinary tribunal are two exceptions. The first exception is to prevent serious harm to the child. In one of the cases involved a 13-year-old boy with divorced parents, whose mother wanted him to be vaccinated, while the father, the complainant, was against it. It would not be vaccinated for the boy may cause serious harm if he would have become infected.
The second exception concerns the desire of the minor patient. The 13-year-old boy himself during interviews and in a written statement to the doctor indicated to be vaccinated, even though he knew that his father was against it.
In the other case was also divorced parents. The father, the complainant, his son without the consent of the parent registered with another GP. He also had the old doctor specifically asked his son not to treat. The mother visited it three times and the old doctor also gave no permission for the child to be treated by the new GP. Also in this case the Central Disciplinary Tribunal ruled that the father the importance of the child did not prevail.
The disciplinary committee also maintains that authoritative parents have to turn to the (child) court if it fails to work the choice of a doctor to come in who both have confidence.
The statements for the practice of health care is very important, reports the KNMG on its website. The organization believes that the disciplinary tribunal practice a useful handle empowering and that the care is more workable for doctors.
